Filtro de agua / Water filter

Una de las problemáticas prioritarias en el barrio es la escasez de agua potable. Esto se debe a que los organismos estatales se consideran impedidos para realizar obras de infraestructura ya que el barrio fue declarado de Alto Riesgo por la oficina de prevención de desastres. One of the priority problems in the neighborhood is the shortage of drinking water. This is because state agencies are considered prevented from carrying out infrastructure works since the neighborhood was declared High Risk by the disaster prevention office.

Para muchos de sus habitantes está decisión es "política" como forma de presionar la salida de la comunidad. De hecho la condición de zona de Alto Riesgo ha cambiado a lo largo de la historia del barrio y contradice el carácter formal de barrio que se obtuvo años atrás. Its development has been slowed down due to the fact that the geographical area in which it is implanted is considered High Risk of landslides. For many of its inhabitants, this decision is "political" as a way to pressure them to leave the territory. In fact, the status of a High Risk area has changed throughout the history of the neighborhood. On the other hand, this condition is contradictory with the formal neighborhood character that was obtained years ago.

La distribución del agua es una de la causa más frecuente de conflictos en el barrio. También, los habitantes se ven obligados a almacenar el agua por largos periodos de tiempo en condiciones insalubres. 
Tejido Multicolor propuso crear un filtro de agua que se puede fabricar con materiales a la mano, reutilizando botellas plásticas y a muy bajo costo. El objetivo es obtener un filtro para potabilizar aguas lluvia al alcance de la comunidad. Así, los habitantes pueden filtrar el agua cada vez que deseen consumirla. 

The distribution of water is one of the most frequent causes of conflicts in the neighborhood. Also, residents are forced to store water for long periods of time in unsanitary conditions.

From there, the Tejido Multicolor team proposed creating a water filter that can be manufactured with materials at hand, reusing plastic bottles and at a very low cost. The goal is to obtain a DIY filter to purify rainwater. Thus, residents can filter the water whenever they wish to consume it.

El filtro fue diseñado por los estudiantes Harold Moros y Adrián Mojica con la retroalmientación de la comunidad. Se fabricó un prototipo y se entregó la documentación técnica (diseño, manual de fabricación) al líder del barrio para su replicabilidad.

The filter was designed by students Harold Moros and Adrián Mojica with feedback from the community. A prototype was manufactured and the technical documentation (design, manufacturing manual) was delivered to the neighborhood leader for replicability.
